The Chill of Holiday Loneliness

It’s the holidays. I’m sitting alone at a restaurant bar. I look around. I see many couples engrossed in the twinkling lights and festivities. I’m alone this year. As I scope the scene of couples enjoying their holiday cheer, together, the soft white lights strung across the bar, the twinkling of hope for this time of year, I can’t help but think how I have pondered a different outcome for myself.     I totally get it. This time of year can be the worst, until New Year’s. To tell the truth, I’m genuinely happy for people who have someone or a family. I find it fascinating. I’m okay with me as long as I have music, a pen and pad, or a place to work on my spirituality (which is everywhere).
